Improve Your Credit Score in 30 Days

By Don Amos / September 1, 2010

cut expenses– There are many ways to improve your credit score in 30 days. Many people who have low marks on their credit-reports are struggling to improve their overall standing in as little time as possible in order to enjoy the many benefits of having high scores.

This information is greatly beneficial when applying for various types of loans. It is also used by many employers to assess job applicants because this will help them assess your ability to manage finances and responsibilities. In some instances this could greatly affect your application to rent for condominiums or office space; while many businessmen further use this data when evaluating business partners and joint ventures.

Therefore, it is very essential to immediately improve credit score in 30 days if ever your rating is well below normal range especially those ranging from 700 and below. It is very ideal if your grade is more than 800 because creditors will also give you better rates due to your very satisfactory grade.

One of the best ways to enhance your mark is to check the veracity of the data that pulls down your rating such as past due and delinquent records. Most often this is inaccurate. In order to do this, contact the collecting agency and ask them for proof of your delinquency. It is more likely that they don’t have this record; hence, you can ask them to erase the record in the absence of such proof.

Furthermore, check also if your credit report contains the record where you have good payment history. There are times when companies do not submit your payment information to the reporting bureaus; hence, make sure that such excellent paying behavior is registered because this will greatly improve credit score in 30 days.

Another method is to apply for credit line and use only around 30% of your limit. The more credit lines you have with less than 30% of the limit are used, the better for your overall ratings. This technique is very effective in improving your credit-score in a quick span of time. If you do this, along with the other two methods mentioned herein, you will notice great improvement on your grade; and you will easily improve credit score in 30 days.

Hockey partnership boosts Australian sporting links with India

By Nate Christopher / August 28, 2010

hockey– Australian Minister for Sport Mark Arbib today congratulated Hockey Australia on the signing of a partnership deal to develop a world class hockey academy in India.

The agreement between Hockey Australia and Lavasa Corporation Limited, developers of Lavasa one of India’s first planned hill cities, was signed in New Delhi today.

The agreement was signed as part of the Business Club Australia program, the Australian Government’s official business program during the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

As part of the agreement Hockey Australia will provide assistance in the design of the academy, introduction of coaches and provision of intellectual property including its junior development program Hook in2 Hockey.

Senator Arbib said the agreement was a significant win for the Australian sports sector and recognised Australia’s capability and commitment to sports development.

“Australia and India share a great passion for sport and a healthy rivalry on the field. We may be competing with India at the Commonwealth Games or cricket series, but off the field it is great to see an Australian and Indian company work together to grow and inspire the next generation of hockey players,” Senator Arbib said.

“It is an honour for Hockey Australia to be called upon to facilitate the development of India’s national sport.

“I welcome this partnership between Hockey Australia and Lavasa Corporation Limited and wish them success in growing the sport in India.”

Lavasa Corporation Limited has also partnered with Sir Nick Faldo to launch a golf academy and Manchester City Football Club to start a football academy.

Chief Executive of Hockey Australia, Mr Mark Anderson said: “Our involvement in this program alongside such international sporting greats further demonstrates Australia’s standing as a world leader in hockey.

“We look forward to working with Lavasa Corporation to develop hockey as a vibrant and growing sport in India,” Mr Anderson said.

President of Lavasa Corporation, Mr Rajgopal Nogja said, “The setting up of an academy with Hockey Australia is in keeping with our endeavour of forging global tie ups to promote Lavasa.”

The partnership agreement between Hockey Australia and Lavasa Corporation Limited is a result of an introduction by the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) earlier this year.

Austrade will similarly match and introduce other Australian and Indian firms during the Business Club Australia India 2010 program of events over the course of the Delhi Games.

The events will cover sectors of relevance to India such as agribusiness, advanced manufacturing, sustainable building and construction, clean energy, education, food and beverage, financial services, mining, and sports and major events.

Lavasa is being developed by India’s premiere infrastructure company HCC (Hindustan Construction Company).

“No. More. Trash.” recycling in Russia

By Lil Herman / August 27, 2010

recycling aluminum cans– In Europe people take recycling very seriously. Not only do the individuals pay, but they also carefully sort their trash and dump it in specially provided containers. One will never see people throwing something on the streets.

In Russia it is totally different, the average person is not concerned about waste and sorting it, they simply don’t care about garbage disposal. There are however, activists, students and the younger generation in particular who are interested in changing.

Musora.Bolshe.Net recently became one of the first green companies to be listed in OboMnenie’s brand new database EcoShop which offers Russians information on where they can find green products and services.  It’s the only database of this kind in Russia at this time.  In addition to local businesses, EcoShop also allows foreign manufacturers of green products to find market in Russia by listing their products for Russian-speaking distributors and importers to see.

The main aim is to change people’s attitudes and approach towards nature but it is really in its infancy. The government doesn’t have projects in place yet. That’s why it is difficult. Everything is based on volunteers. The main mission of the organization is to change the attitude towards the problem of litter at all levels of public consciousness, from ordinary citizens to government employees. The goal is to solve the issues of the ever growing landfills, pollution, and construction of processing plants. And most importantly, the root cause of the above is the lack of cultural understanding and respect of their own habitat. The organization is the recipient of many awards and competitions, including “Our Town” (2007) and “National Public Award for volunteering” (2008).

Oman Tourism Report Q4 2010

By Don Amos / August 26, 2010

market share– Oman’s tourism industry has continued its rapid growth, assisted by the government’s long-term economic plan to diversify income sources, in the light of expected declining oil and reserves over the next few years. As part of government’s plan, called Vision for Oman’s National Economy: Oman 2020, the Ministry of Tourism aims to attract 12mn visitors by 2020. The tourism industry is expected to become one of the largest contributors to GDP by then. The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) expects the industry to grow from 1.5% of total GDP in 2010 to 2.4% of GDP by 2020. The contribution to the economy by tourism-related activity is expected to increase from 7.6% of GDP in 2010 to 9.2% of GDP by 2020.

Oman has been investing heavily in tourism, especially in infrastructure and airports. Three new airports will be built to boost the industry and the government is spending at least US$3.2bn upgrading its gateway airport, Muscat International Airport.

Oman specialises in ecotourism and first class tourism, but increasingly it has to compete with other Middle East destinations that offer similar experiences for Western and regional tourists. Security and political issues in the Middle East also pose continuing threats to the tourism industry across the region. Of most concern to Oman, there is the unpredictability of the West’s standoff with Iran, as well as the possible establishment of radical Islam, which could spread from neighbouring Saudi Arabia.

On the positive side, Oman is well regarded as a place for conducting business and it has, compared to other countries in the Middle East, a relatively low level of corruption. It has good relations with the US, the UK, India and China.

Covert Affairs Worth Watching

By Mark Masters / August 25, 2010

spy glass–Covert Affairs picked up a lot of fans during it premier short season. Covert Affairs is a USA Network television series starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham. The one-hour drama premiered on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, following White Collar. The show concluded its first season on September 14, 2010 and it was renewed for a second season on August 19, 2010.

Finally a TV show with strong female characters, superbly cast. Annie is intelligent, strong, and gets the job done. I also like the type of boss Joan is- she keeps it together and then reveals that she is thinking what we want her to think and she does the right thing. The character Auggie is a blind ex-soldier. Yes he is blind, but it is amazing how he approaches it.

The show is spy themed, but it’s much more character driven. Piper Perabo’s character is learning that being a spy is going to take a toll on her family life, and there is also a good conflict building between the Campbells regarding their failed marriage. Perhaps it’s a spy show with heart, and it’s much better written than many of USA’s other action-adventure shows, simply because it has developed some pretty deep characters with only a few episodes.

The Covert Affairs Season one is available on DVD.

“World Progress Report” To Explore Prevention Methods Against Glaucoma

By John French / August 24, 2010

eye chart–  The Public Television series, World Progress Report, would like to highlight the medical professionals and research helping to improve the lives of people suffering from glaucoma. “By informing the public of this silent, but damaging disease, we hope that people will make it a priority to have their eyes examined on a regular basis. Hopefully, by taking an active role in prevention, people will be able to protect their sight and avoid the devastating consequences of this debilitating disease,” said the Executive Producer of the series.

Though many people are affected each year, most are unaware that they are suffering from an irreversible disorder. If left untreated, its consequences can be devastating. Known as the second leading cause of blindness, glaucoma is a slow progressing disease.

Often triggered by a buildup of internal pressure on the eye, glaucoma causes damage to the optic nerve, negatively affecting the sufferer’s sight. Most types of glaucoma have no warning signs until a noticeable loss in vision occurs (periphery). However, there are ways of detecting the disease early.

By having routine eye exams, a person can improve their chances of finding and treating the disorder before it progresses.  Devices such as tonometers or optical nerve scanning technologies provide your doctor with ways to identify potential problems. Additional examinations include ophthalmoscopy, perimetry gonioscopy and visual field tests.

Despite getting tested, there are still certain risk factors that are unavoidable. People over the age of 45, a family history of glaucoma, black ethnicity, having a prior eye injury, use of steriods and having diabetes are just some factors that can increase your chances of developing the disease.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games are the nineteenth Commonwealth Games, and the ninth to be held under that name. The Games are scheduled to be held in Delhi, India between 3 October and 14 October 2010. The games will be the largest multi-sport event conducted to date in Delhi and India generally, which has previously hosted the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. It will also be the first time the Commonwealth Games will be held in India and the second time the event has been held in Asia (after 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

In preparation for an influx of English-speaking tourists for the Games, the Delhi government is implementing a program to teach English, and the necessary skills for serving tourists, to key workers such as cab drivers, security workers, waiters, porters, and service staff. In the two years prior to the Games 2,000 drivers were taught English. The program aims to teach 1,000 people English per month in the hope of reaching all key workers by March 2010. In addition to Delhi, the Indian Government plans to expand the program to teach people in local tourist destinations in other parts of India.

Peter Kempson Paints “Love Notes to Los Angeles”

By Aaron Allen / August 23, 2010

paint palette– As stated by one of his critics, Peter Kempson paints “love notes to Los Angeles,” amazing pieces that allow the viewer to step right into the painting and be in Los Angeles. For his contribution to Still Point Art Gallery’s current exhibition, Global Lifestyles: Cities, Town, Villages, Kempson was named an Artist of Distinction. His paintings are remarkable for their detailed precision, a style that can only be called photorealism.

Kempson holds a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, which is reflected in the story-telling quality of his work. Much of his career was spent working as advertising art director and creative director at Ogilvy & Mather in New York and McCann Erickson in Los Angeles. His work earned him numerous awards for creativity, including several Clios and an Emmy.

Kempson is a self-taught artist, and, though relatively new on the fine art scene, he has already exhibited at the prestigious Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Kempson has also recently been awarded the commission for a large painting to grace the lobby of the Los Angeles Firemen’s Credit Union. Though he has begun painting other cities, beginning with his hometown of New York, Kempson’s primary focus remains capturing the unique and ironic character of Los Angeles where, as he puts it, “…validation may come in the form of an Oscar statuette or a stamp on your valet parking ticket.

Insurance Company Moves to Decrease Fraudulent Car Insurance Claims

By Don Amos / August 20, 2010

insurance– New measures to help decrease motorists car insurance premiums are to be brought in by

A representative from the firm has recently claimed that applicants will be subject to additional background checks to help keep premiums down in the future.

“Although some motorists will treat the news with caution, most will see this as a positive step towards rewarding those with a clean claims history” said a spokesperson for Bad Credit Loans 4 You, a UK specialist at sourcing Bad Credit Loans.

“We expect to see people soon requiring smaller bad credit car loans to help with their driving costs”. are planning to complete an automatic check of people’s claims histories to help catch out those who are trying to “buck the system”.

“It is not fair that safe, law-abiding drivers should pay higher premiums to subsidise people who lie about their previous claims to get cheaper insurance,” stated Steve Gaywood, counter-fraud and compliance manager at the company.

The new system is believed to ensure a more accurate and fair quote is provided to each applicant according to their individual circumstances.

Unless other companies decide to follow suit, it could mean drivers who have previously provided false information whilst making applications may decide to not use the insurance provider again, but seem determined to prove that honesty is the best policy.

“Although we have personally seen a marked increase in the size of bad credit car loans that people are applying for, with new measures soon to be in place, we are eventually expecting this figure to begin to drop” noted a Bad Credit Loans 4 You spokesperson.

“Fraudulent insurance claims are contributing to the rising cost of policies which in turn is increasing the size of bad credit car loans people need to apply for”.

Some people have been attracted towards what has been ludicrously described as “easy” money, by defrauding their insurance company, but this will ultimately make insurance cover prices increase for everyone.

In a bid to combat some of the fraudulent claims that people make against them, research firm Defaqto has revealed that 94 per cent of insurance policies offered in 2010 have no protection against road rage incidents.

Loans 4 You helps out people who fear they have been blacklisted because of CCJ’s and Defaults.

Loans 4 You holds a Consumer Credit License issued by the Office of Fair Trading. The company is also covered by the Financial Ombudsman.

Loans 4 You is also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office for Data Protection.

Get Smart Season 1-5 DVD

By Mark Masters / August 19, 2010

agent 86– Get Smart was a series centered on bumbling secret agent Maxwell Smart (Don Adams), also known as Agent 86. His experienced partner is young Agent 99 (Barbara Feldon), whose real name is never revealed in the series. Agents 86 and 99 work for CONTROL, a secret U.S. government counter-intelligence agency based in Washington, D.C. (at 123 Main Street, a fictional address).

The pair investigates and thwarts various threats to the world, though Smart’s incompetence invariably causes complications. However, Smart never fails to save the day, typically thanks to his own dumb luck and often by 99’s skills. Looking on is the long-suffering head of CONTROL, who is addressed simply as “Chief” (played by Edward Platt).

Don Adams was brilliant as Maxwell Smart, charming in his ineptitude, flawless in his comic timing. The gags were consistently hilarious. The bits of business like the shoe phone or the cone of silence were outrageous. And Barbara Feldon as agent 99 was deliciously sexy. The plots weren’t the point really, the gags were, and the excellent comic characterizations. Check out Bernie Kopell pre Love Boat as KAOS agent Siegfried or Dick Gautier as Hymie. With Mel Brooks and Buck Henry at the helm, how could you go wrong. Maxwell Smart lives on in the pantheon of fictional cold war spies alongside James Bond, Harry Palmer and Derek Flint. Austin Powers has nothing on these cats.

Get Smart Season 1-5 is available in a DVD Box Set.
